As the Staff Accountant, you will play a critical part in managing our business today and planning our business for tomorrow. You will ensure that Core-Mark transactions and consolidations are properly reflected in the Company s General Ledger and that SOX controls and reporting requirements are met. A successful candidate will be able to contribute to the integrity of our accounting processes, assist in the measurement our impact, and enable future decisions.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Assuring that financial statements are prepared in compliance with GAAP & SOX.
- Preparing financial information in support of press releases and Investor Relations activities.
- Running reports and pulling financial data using SAP and other programs.
- Creating financial analysis based on management s reporting needs.
- Coordinating the preparation of Balance Sheet consolidation for all Divisions.
- Reviewing accounts based upon risk level.
- Assisting with close, monthly forecasts, and annual budget.
- Maintaining account analysis/reconciliation process.
- Preparing and reviewing General Ledger Journal entries, tax filings, management reports, and documents in support of annual and interim audits.
- Coordinating the balancing and verifying the accuracy of monthly allocations.
- Reviewing Balance Sheet/financial results; comparing to goals, last year, year-end, & prior quarter.
- Inspecting and resolving any issues as they pertain to accounting.
- Performing any ad-hoc analysis requests from client groups.
- Bachelor s degree with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of relevant accounting/reporting experience.
- Possessing or working towards obtaining CPA.
- Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with SAP is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and organizational skills.
