Project Accountant - Accounting
St Louis, MO | Full-Time $50,000-$70,000 per year
Overview
One of the top ten mechanical contractors in the US is seeking a Project Accountant to support project finance and billing operations. Ideal candidates have 1-3 years of accounting or billing experience, strong organizational skills, and a proactive, collaborative mindset. Construction experience is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide project finance support and analysis for assigned projects
- Set up new jobs and track Certificates of Insurance
- Review contracts, special provisions, and terms & conditions
- Prepare accurate and timely customer billing
- Assist with collections and cash management
- Submit project-related reporting, including certified payroll
- Process and code subcontractor and equipment invoices in Vista
- Conduct monthly budget and projection reviews
- Maintain positive communication with vendors, clients, and internal teams
- 1-3 years' experience in accounting, billing, or job management
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Self-starter with a collaborative mindset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Vista by Viewpoint experience preferred
- Construction or union experience is a plus
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
- $50,000-$70,000 salary
