Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $80,000 to $110,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities- Generate monthly rent invoices and manage collections, late fees, and tenant payment activity.
- Maintain rent rolls and tenant ledgers to ensure accurate recording of rent, CAM charges, and recoveries.
- Perform accounting tasks related to tenant move‑ins and move‑outs while supporting property managers with tenant communications.
- Manage day‑to‑day accounting for a portfolio of commercial and residential properties, including AP and AR processing.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements with variance explanations against budget and prior periods.
- Demonstrate proficiency in property management software such as App Folio or Yardi.
- Have strong knowledge of budgeting processes and CAM reconciliations for multi‑tenant properties.
- Utilize advanced Excel skills to support financial analysis, reporting, and data reconciliation.
- Communicate effectively with property managers, tenants, and internal teams to resolve accounting issues.
- Manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining strong organizational skills.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with commercial real estate experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and year‑end supporting schedules.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset when working cross‑functionally.
