Rental Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Rental Accountant to manage rent and utilities processing, account reconciliations, landlord queries, and lease-related financial administration. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial reporting, support rent escalations and renewals, and maintain strong compliance with accounting standards.

• Process rent payments and ensure accurate accounting and reconciliation.
• Review monthly utilities accounts to identify discrepancies or problem areas.
• Resolve account queries timeously with internal teams and landlords.
• Perform account reconciliations as required.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations on rental income and utilities expenses.
• Manage rent escalations, renewals, and lease terminations.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
• Issue monthly turnover figures to landlords in a timely manner.

• Grade 12 (essential).
• 3–5 years’ experience in accounting and lease administration, preferably in retail.
• Experience with MRI software (advantageous).
• Professional accounting certification (e.g., CA, ACCA, CIMA) (advantageous).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (essential).
• High proficiency in MS Excel (essential).
