Compensation: $125,000 - $145,000 base + 20% bonus + RSUs (DOE)

A leading fintech company is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lead Revenue Accountant to join its Accounting organization. This is an individual contributor role within a high-performing Revenue Recognition team, responsible for ensuring revenue is recognized in accordance with ASC 606 and company policy, while supporting the business through rapid innovation and evolving go-to-market strategies. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting acumen, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced, complex environment.

• Provide technical revenue accounting guidance for new products and services, collaborating with marketing, product, finance, and IT teams to align on end-to-end revenue treatment
• Maintain and enforce revenue recognition policies under ASC 606, including interpretation and documentation of new positions as business models evolve
• Perform technical accounting research and develop clear, actionable guidance for operational teams
• Ensure accurate and efficient systemic and manual revenue accounting processes
• Proactively identify and drive improvements to revenue recognition controls, forecasting accuracy, and system tools
• Participate in due diligence efforts and accounting treatment reviews related to potential acquisitions
• Develop and deliver training for business unit leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure understanding of revenue recognition principles and processes
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate preparation and substantiation of revenue-related accounts
• Monitor and interpret evolving accounting standards and apply changes to company policies as needed
• Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional partners to influence high-quality decision-making related to revenue recognition

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or MBA strongly preferred
• Minimum 7 years of post-graduate experience in revenue accounting or technical accounting
• Deep understanding of ASC 606 and revenue recognition principles; ability to interpret and apply complex guidance in real-world scenarios
• Strong end-to-end process orientation with analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and partner across all levels of the organization
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, multi-business unit environment
• High level of professional skepticism, with a background in internal audit or public accounting a plus
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle R12; familiarity with Blackline, Click Sense, and revenue-billing platforms preferred
