Job responsibilities- Develop donor relationships to build the major donor program with mid- to high-level donors.
- Manages a portfolio of 100-150 current and prospective major donors
- Work with CDO to develop effective, written strategies with clear timelines for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship for donors and prospects in support of MFBN’s annual fund and planning giving.
- Work with Donor Relations & Database Coordinator to screen and prepare profiles of current and prospective donors.
- Track activities and results in current CRM regularly reporting to leadership progress toward goals
- Meets annual revenue goals and other metrics established for your portfolio as established by MFBN leadership
- Works with the Development Team, leadership, and program staff to align fundraising efforts with organizational priorities
- Directly solicits major gifts, often involving leadership and board members, and presents compelling proposals
- Implement plans to thank, engage, and retain major donors, ensuring they feel valued and understand their impact.
- Identify and cultivate planned giving prospects and develops strategies for gift planning opportunities.
- 3-5 years minimum experience with a proven track record in fundraising, relationship management and achieving targets
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects/events and adhere to deadlines
- Proficiency with donor databases and wealth screening tools
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and persuasion skills
- Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and donor database systems.
- Deep understanding and passion for the MFBN’s mission
- Ability to relate effectively with other staff, volunteers, agency representatives and the general public.
- Ability to complete work in an accurate, effective and timely manner.
- Possess a valid Montana Driver’s License
Selected candidate must pass a background check prior to hiring.

Montana Food Bank Network (MFBN) is the only statewide food bank offering programs that focus on finding and distributing food to Montanans facing food insecurity while strengthening public nutrition programs and working to eliminate the root causes of hunger.
Founded in 1984, MFBN is the largest centralized source of donated emergency food in Montana. MFBN has grown from a small organization run by volunteers to an organization with a staff of 24, a network of over 330 statewide partner emergency food agencies, a core of hundreds of volunteers, and a twelve-member Board of Directors dedicated to achieving the mission in strategic ways.
