VISTA leader will build capacity of MCNCE by developing member resources, researching enhanced training opportunities, creating camaraderie among the cohort, serve as a member of the recruitment and training team, and special initiatives ensuring enhanced ani-poverty VISTA projects. This will be accomplished through the development of professional relationships with VISTA members and their project supervisors. Conducting regular check-ins with VISTA members to answer their questions and support them during the service year.
Facilitate bi-monthly solidarity calls for VISTA members. Accompany the VISTA Director on service site visits. VISTA Leader will serve as a coach, mentor, liaison, ambassador and facilitator for MCNCE VISTA members! This means being available for email, phone, zoom and in-person conversations about MCNCE, VISTA and the overall VISTA experience. VISTA leader will contribute to the planning of service projects, such as for Martin Luther King Jr.
National Day of Service. Support the team in planning VISTA training events, including activities such as coordinating travel plans for members and delivering educational presentations.
MCNCE is a CEO-led coalition of colleges and universities that support civic engagement, service learning, and volunteerism across the state. Every year we place cohorts of full-time, part-time, and summer Ameri Corps members with schools, colleges, nonprofits, and government agencies in Montana. The Ameri Corps projects we facilitate increase educational equity, break down barriers between higher education and community organizations, and address the root causes of poverty in communities across the state.
The Ameri Corps VISTA Leader will contribute to the successful functioning of our Ameri Corps VISTA program by ensuring that VISTA members have the resources and support they need to have positive and productive service experiences in Montana. This position requires applicants to have completed a prior year of Ameri Corps service or term of Peace Corps service.
