Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)

The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) is a key member of the senior leadership team responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive human resources strategy. The role is focused on leading the company’s people strategy and providing strategic HR guidance and direction. The CHRO will oversee all aspects of the company’s human resources operations, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, and organizational development.

  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive human resources strategy aligned with the company’s strategic goals.
  • Lead the company’s recruitment and talent acquisition initiatives to ensure access to top talent.
  • Manage the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and programs to support human resources operations and maximize efficiency.
  • Ensure all HR functions are compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Oversee performance management program, including guidance on reviews and disciplinary actions.
  • Develop and implement compensation and benefits programs.
  • Maintain positive employee relations by providing guidance and support.
  • Ensure accurate employee personnel files.
  • Administer pre‑employment, drug and alcohol screening, DOT requirements, and annual MVR checks.
  • Maintain organization charts and contact directories.
  • Support staffing issues, employee relations, and policy implementation.
  • Manage time and attendance tracking and maintain data for HR activities and reports.
  • Act as check‑and‑balance for management, ensuring compliance with labor laws and preserving employee dignity.
  • Execute annual employee health and welfare benefits survey.
  • Conduct annual overview and compensation reviews according to policy.
  • Respond to unemployment, disability, and paid family leave inquiries and verification requests.
  • Provide guidance on employee and cross‑functional training programs and resources; develop and maintain a training calendar.
  • Report job‑related incidents and act as liaison with workers’ compensation adjuster.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as required.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in human resources management, including at least 4 years in a leadership role.
  • Possess PRH/SPHR or SHRM‑CP certification.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and management skills.
  • Demonstrated strong ethic of concern for development and motivation of empowered, strongly motivated staff.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Good listening skills and sound judgement in dealing with human resource issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience in Excel strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with excellent organizational skills; strong problem‑solving capability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
