Overview

The Montana Public Health Training Center (MPHTC) invites applications for a Wellness Program Manager to oversee wellness activities supporting the public health and healthcare workforce across the state. The Wellness Program Manager is responsible for the strategic vision and operational oversight of wellness initiatives within the MPHTC. This position navigates a complex landscape of program design and systemic integration, focusing on strengthening the resilience and professional capacity of Montana’s public health / healthcare workforce.

The Wellness Program Manager serves as a key architect in aligning MPHTC programs with state-wide health priorities, initiatives, and diverse stakeholder needs.

Responsibilities
  • Actively build and maintain relationships with public health departments, healthcare stakeholders, and schools across Montana.
  • Develop program materials; collect, record, analyze, and evaluate program data and outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with staff from the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services.
  • Design and deliver wellness sessions that integrate experiential and educational approaches.
  • Facilitate weekly team management meetings, including agenda development and documentation of minutes.
  • Lead grant writing and new program development related to wellness initiatives.
  • Partner with internal and external program evaluators to ensure effective data collection and continuous program improvement.
  • Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience working within wellness and/or healthcare, and engaging with public health departments or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of working within rural communities with diverse stakeholders, including community members.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with internal teams.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).
  • Experience presenting using alternative formats such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Web Ex.
Qualifications
  • Preferred:
    Master’s degree in Community Health, Health Education, Health Counseling or a related field.
  • Certification as a Health and Wellness Coach.
  • Experience in a professional Health Coach role.
  • Ability to create online wellness content.
  • Experience in program planning and design.
  • Availability to travel throughout Montana to give trainings, presentations, and conduct site visits.

Compensation

Title:

Program Manager I

Union: FOCUS-MFPE

Work Schedule:

Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 12 months/year

Probationary Period:
Six (6) months minimum

Benefits Include:
