Overview
Patient Care Coordinators provide a variety of receptionist and clerical duties in support of the PMG physician offices. This includes but is not limited to obtaining patient demographics and insurance information with verification, explaining hospital forms and policies, obtaining signatures, discussing financial responsibilities, collecting monies, and initiating the appropriate episode of care. Processes required information on all patients according to departmental and interdepartmental policies and procedures while adhering to the patient-focused admissions process.
May perform duties such as filing, keyboarding, answering the telephone, etc. Must be able to work effectively and calmly with frequent interruptions in a rapid-paced environment. Accountable to obtain timely and accurate information.
- Obtain patient demographics and insurance information and verify coverage.
- Explain hospital forms and policies and obtain required signatures.
- Discuss financial responsibilities with patients and collect monies as appropriate.
- Initiate the proper episode of care and process information per departmental policies.
- Perform general receptionist and clerical duties (filing, keyboarding, answering phones) as needed.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions while maintaining accuracy.
- Required Qualifications: Customer service-related experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: 6 months office experience (medical office preferred); 6 months experience in Electronic Medical Records.

Compensationand Benefits
Posted are the minimum and maximum wage rates for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range will be determined based on relevant experience and other factors. The base pay range may be supplemented by shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
