Water/Wastewater Civil Engineer - Project Manager

Missoula, MT
• Salary Range: $80,000 - $135,000 DOE

A respected engineering and consulting firm with a strong regional presence is seeking a Water/Wastewater Civil Engineer - Project Manager to join its infrastructure team in Missoula, Montana. This is a high-impact opportunity to lead essential water and wastewater projects that support community growth, environmental stewardship, and long-term sustainability.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in civil engineering design and construction, particularly in water and wastewater systems. Strong project management skills and the ability to collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams are key to success in this role.

Responsibilities
  • Develop plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports for municipal and industrial water/wastewater systems.
  • Lead design efforts using Civil 3D or similar software platforms.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communications.
  • Provide construction support, including site visits and field observation.
  • Review RFIs, submittals, and progress payments; ensure compliance with funding and regulatory requirements.
  • Assess system performance and recommend improvements to meet local, state, and federal standards.
  • Collaborate with community members, agencies, and officials to align project goals and gather input.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Construction Engineering (ABET-accredited).
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in civil engineering design and construction; water/wastewater focus preferred.
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification required; PE license preferred or obtainable post-hire.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D and hydraulic modeling software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
