In the role of Hydraulics EIT, we’ll count on you to:
  • Demonstrate the ability to work under the direction of multiple project engineers to apply design, engineering, and modeling techniques in the development of transportation and water resource projects for local municipalities, state, and federal clients.
  • Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects.
  • Conduct site studies, site designs, contract documentation preparation, and graphic presentation. Prepare civil design drawings with BIM/CADD platforms for construction documents.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic evaluations and calculations.
  • Prepare drainage maps.
  • Design stormwater management facilities and perform related calculations and modeling.
  • Prepare Construction/Contract Plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Perform flooding complaint investigations.
  • Assist with writing reports and technical memos.
  • Provide drainage design permitting support.
  • Conduct water quality assessments and calculations.
  • Evaluate floodplain impacts and compensation calculations.
  • Perform bridge hydraulic and scour evaluations and calculations.
  • Prepare cost opinions and write technical documents.
  • Support construction phase implementation of infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Transportation, or Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience performing drainage design for highway/roadway projects, including preparing plans, specifications, and permitting.
  • EIT or the ability to obtain within 12 months. Candidates hired without their EIT will be called a Hydraulics Designer and will be expected to obtain EIT for career progression.
  • Knowledge/experience with GIS.
  • Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic design software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Hydraflow, Storm

    CAD, Civil Storm, HY-8, Flowmaster, Street and Sanitary Analysis, Hydro

    CAD, and Info Drainage.
  • Knowledge of Civil 3D pipe networks.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
