The University of Montana (UM) Skaggs School of Pharmacy invites applications for an academic year tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in the Department of Biomedical & Pharmaceutical Sciences beginning August 21, 2023. The primary focus of the position is to support the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum through instruction in Pharmacology with an emphasis in neuroscience, as well as other foundational didactic courses.
The successful candidate will contribute to the mission of the Skaggs School of Pharmacy through excellence in instruction, scholarship, and service.
The faculty member will contribute at least 50% of time to teaching excellence through instruction in the Doctor of Pharmacy program. Teaching efforts may include the development and/or coordination of pharmacy-related courses and teaching labs, and other foundational courses as assigned by Chair/Dean within the expertise of the successful candidate. The successful candidate is expected to dedicate at least 30% of time to scholarly and 20% of time to service activities.
Faculty members are expected to develop strong research programs in their areas of expertise and are encouraged to collaborate with faculty and students in other departmental research areas. Faculty members are also expected to contribute to the activities of the School and University as well as contribute to the reputation of the School through service on a local, regional, and national level.
- Hold a PhD in a relevant Biomedical Sciences discipline from an accredited institution or equivalent degree.
- Completion of a Post-doctoral appointment.
- Have a minimum of three years teaching experience in the education of pharmacy students.
- Have experience in the education of graduate students in a biomedical science discipline.
- Record of publications in a relevant field.
- Record of obtaining extramural funding.
Title: Assistant/Associate Professor
Position Type: Full time, 9-Month, tenure track, (1.0 FTE)
Entry Rate: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experiences, but ranges from $75, per year.

About the University of Montana, Skaggs School of Pharmacy, and the Department of Biomedical & Pharmaceutical Sciences:The Department of Biomedical & Pharmaceutical Sciences, one of two departments in the Skaggs School of Pharmacy, is comprised of 12 tenure track faculty and 12 non-tenure track research or instructional faculty. The Pharmacy School class size is approximately 50 students, with two graduate programs (Toxicology and Pharmaceutical Sciences & Drug Design) supporting 24 PhD, Pharm
D/MS, and MS students.
