POSITION DESCRIPTION

AREA: Head Coach - Track

REPORTS TO: Assistant Principal

SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT
:

• Directs the track program within policies set by the Administration of Target Range School
• Organizes all facets of the program, creating a harmonious team
• Establishes basic philosophies, ensuring development and integration within district vision
• Acts as an appropriate role model for middle school youth

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Possesses high school diploma or its equivalent
• Possesses previous coaching and/or competition experience
• Possesses certified first aid training

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certified teacher

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):

• Directs the track program within policies set by the Administration of Target Range School
• Organizes all facets of the program, unifies all the various parts, philosophies and staff into a harmonious concerted team
• Establishes basic philosophies, ensuring development and integrating with district philosophy—both with the track skill sets as well academics standards
• Provides appropriate safety instruction, supervision, and is aware and reacts appropriately on equipment in need of repair to insure the overall safety of pupils
• Maintains a detailed activity/drill book and log
• Establishes and supervises practice schedules and facilities
• Assures and provides adequate supervision at all times before, during and after all practice sessions and meets
• Acts as an appropriate role model for middle school youth
• Demonstrates ability to be punctual, dependable, and a self-starter

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Persons performing service in this position will exert 10 to 50 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
• This type of work involves walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods of time as required by situations of job position
• Perceiving the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral and written information, the manual dexterity to move related equipment, and the skills necessary to handle and work with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job

Salary, benefits and working conditions as established by Board of Trustees

EVALUATION:

Performance of said duties will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

Salary: $1,980 to $1,980 Stipend
