Program Manager, Office Provost

Overview

The Office of the Provost invites applications for a Program Manager to oversee operations related to academic policy, course evaluations, faculty activity reporting, faculty evaluations, and the faculty sabbatical process. The role manages projects end-to-end, including planning, implementation, communication, and coordination with internal and external partners to ensure compliance with timelines and requirements.

• Administer faculty processes outlined in collective bargaining agreements.
• Serve as the primary administrator and strategic lead for Interfolio.
• Provide training, guidance, and support to faculty and academic leadership.
• Support Office of the Provost initiatives, recruitments, events, and special projects.
• Design and lead events, communications, and projects that advance the visibility and values of the Office of the Provost.
• Demonstrated negotiation, conflict resolution, critical analysis, and sound judgment in complex situations.
• Strong team orientation, professionalism, discretion, accountability, and willingness to learn.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and demonstrated curiosity in using generative AI to improve processes and efficiency.

• Required
• High School diploma and two (2) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent project management, planning, attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across academic and administrative units.
• Ability to design and lead events, communications, and projects that advance the visibility and values of the Office of the Provost.

• Preferred
• Comprehensive knowledge of UM structure and protocols
• A degree in business, communication, education or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Experience in higher education or a similar work environment.

  Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 12 months/year.
• Probationary Period:
  Six (6) months minimum
