The University of Montana, Department of Psychology, invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor to begin August 2026. We seek applicants with a PhD in Cognitive Behavioral Neuroscience (or similar) to serve as a core faculty member in our Experimental Psychology area. New faculty members are provided a financial research start-up package and lab space. Our faculty have access to extensive resources, including state-of-the-art laboratory facilities.
The position offers unique collaborative opportunities with other experimental faculty as well as other colleagues in the department, other Neuroscience faculty on campus, and in the community.
- Undergraduate and graduate teaching specific to cognitive or behavioral neuroscience and experimental psychology, conducting research, and supervising undergraduate and graduate student research
- Teach graduate-level content to students from three doctoral programs:
Experimental, School, and Clinical - Develop strong research programs in your areas of expertise and collaborate with faculty and students in other departmental research areas
- PhD in Cognitive Behavioral Neuroscience or a related field (required at the time of appointment)
- Ability to establish and maintain a program of research
- Ability to cover human neurological disorders
