The University of Montana, Department of Psychology, invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor to begin August 2026. We seek applicants with a PhD in Cognitive Behavioral Neuroscience (or similar) to serve as a core faculty member in our Experimental Psychology area. New faculty members are provided a financial research start-up package and lab space. Our faculty have access to extensive resources, including state-of-the-art laboratory facilities.

The position offers unique collaborative opportunities with other experimental faculty as well as other colleagues in the department, other Neuroscience faculty on campus, and in the community.

Responsibilities
  • Undergraduate and graduate teaching specific to cognitive or behavioral neuroscience and experimental psychology, conducting research, and supervising undergraduate and graduate student research
  • Teach graduate-level content to students from three doctoral programs:
    Experimental, School, and Clinical
  • Develop strong research programs in your areas of expertise and collaborate with faculty and students in other departmental research areas
Qualifications
  • PhD in Cognitive Behavioral Neuroscience or a related field (required at the time of appointment)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to establish and maintain a program of research
  • Ability to cover human neurological disorders
