Academic Advisor III, School of Integrative Physiology and Athletic Training

The School of Integrative Physiology and Athletic Training (IPAT) invites applications for an Academic Advisor III to oversee the day‑to‑day management of internships and academic advising for undergraduate and graduate programs.

• Provide academic advising and internship support.
• Coordinate, supervise, and assess IPAT student internships, including site visits and employer communication.
• Serve as the primary resource for faculty and campus internship partners.
• Maintain office hours and prepare internship and advising reports.
• Support program assessment, student success initiatives, and related committee work.

• Bachelor’s Degree and one (1) year of related advising and internship experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with academic advising and internship practices, including direct internship advisement.
• Demonstrated ability to support and mentor students from low‑income, first‑generation, and underrepresented backgrounds.
• Ability to learn and apply Montana University System and University of Montana policies, academic requirements, internship procedures, and financial aid processes.
• Knowledge of best practices in internships and graduation requirements.
• Strong public speaking, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and accurate record‑keeping systems.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities under pressure, and maintain attention to detail.
• Valid Montana driver’s license (or ability to obtain upon hire) for internship site visits.

• Knowledge of MUS, University of Montana, the School of Integrative Physiology and Athletic Training, and the College of Health.

  Part‑time‑Full‑time, 0.6‑1.0 FTE (24‑40 Hours per week), Monday through Friday, 12 months/year, minimum of 24 hours per week, with the potential to move to full‑time depending on program needs and the candidate’s preferences, in‑person only.
• Probationary Period:
  Six (6) months minimum
