Pay & Conditions

  • Base salary: $86,439 – $92,795 pa (pro rata)
  • Casuals receive an additional 25% loading allowance on top of the base salary.
  • Penalty rates may apply.
  • Medical and physical functional capacity examination required.
  • Mandatory training from 9 March 2026 to 19 March 2026.

Role Overview

The Kath French Secure Care Centre provides short‑term intensive therapeutic care to vulnerable children presenting with high‑risk behaviours. Secure Care Workers work within a multidisciplinary team, rotating roster including weekends and night shifts, guided by the Sanctuary Model and the Seven Commitments for creating safe environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver trauma‑informed therapeutic care to young people.
  • Support children in removing high‑risk behaviours.
  • Collaborate with specialist education, psychology and social work staff.
  • Adopt self‑care practices and help maintain a safe, reflective practice environment.
  • Attend required training and comply with regulatory obligations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Current WA 'C' or 'C-A' class licence.
  • Relevant experience working with children or adolescents in a therapeutic setting.
  • Understanding of cultural safety principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience applying the Sanctuary Model or similar trauma‑informed frameworks.
