We are seeking a Hole Watch / Fire Watch for a position in Pass Christian, MS. In case of a gas or chemical spill, fire, or other emergency, the Firewatch / Holewatch position contacts employees on the job and shuts down all equipment (welding machines, etc. and directs the employees to the correct evacuation route). Non-exempt role;
Reports to the Foreman;
Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

• High school or equivalent
• Must have completed Turner qualification training for Firewatch/Holewatch
• Must be able to operate a plant radio to call Plant Operations and Foreman in case of an emergency
• Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
• Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Stays awake and alert at all times; knows what is going on in the area and on the job; stays in constant contact with the people doing the work; knows where the nearest fire extinguisher is located and how to use it; knows where the emergency/safety equipment is located and how to use it; knows where the welding machines in use are located on the job and how to turn them off if necessary;

knows where the oxygen and acetylene bottles are located and how to turn them off if necessary; keeps the area clean at all times; never leaves a job unattended; properly relieved before leaving the job; knows who and how to contact in case of an emergency on a job; perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
