Store Manager (Float)
Goodwill Industries of South Mississippi is looking for a dynamic Float Store Manager to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations of a Donated Goods Retail (DGR) location.
Responsibilities- Ensure 100% world‑class customer service.
- Hire, train, develop, supervise, and evaluate team members in accordance with Goodwill policies.
- Develop, train, and supervise Assistant Store Managers, preparing them for future Store Manager roles.
- Operate the DGR within budgeted expense-to-revenue ratios and donor value.
- Steward all donations, handling and processing incoming and outgoing flow per GSMS policies.
- Schedule and maintain labor and payroll in compliance with GSMS procedures.
- Maintain image, safety, loss prevention, and security of the DGR per GSMS policies.
- Handle cash, comment cards, monthly safety site inspections, incident/accident reports, expense reports, supply orders, team meeting minutes, weekly scheduler (four weeks), WESA reports, work requests, and maintain compliance with CARF standards.
- Stay informed on product knowledge, industry trends, and competitive pricing.
- Perform duties per Guiding Principles and Core Values.
- Attend in‑service and related training as assigned by Operations Leadership.
- Participate in activities outside Goodwill as requested.
- Perform other duties assigned by Operations Leadership.
- Minimum of two years of management/supervisory experience in a business (retail) setting preferred.
- Associate’s Degree in business or related field preferred.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
Special Requirements
- Must be able to bend, reach, and stand for extensive periods and lift up to forty pounds; heavier items may require assistance.
- Must perform tasks requiring repetitive motion (e.g., tagging or hanging clothes).
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must open the store at least twice per week and close at least twice per week.
- Must work a minimum of three Saturdays and two Sundays per month.
