MACHINE OPERATOR
PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTION:
Responsible for converting rolled steel into closet door frame components by operating the roll-forming equipment.
QUALIFICATIONSHigh School diploma or equivalent.
WORKING CONDITIONSMental Effort: There is mental effort as a result of requirements to pay close attention to details. Work performed has some variety, but changes are infrequent.
Physical Effort: The operator will stand for long periods at a time. Some heavy lifting is required.
Working Conditions: Plant environment with regular exposure to uncomfortable physical factors.
Knowledge/
Skills:
The position of Roll-form Operator requires an understanding of relevant company procedures. Advanced motor skills are needed when dealing with hand tools and heavy machinery. Must have the ability to multi-task, strong attention to detail and basic computer skills.
Communication
Skills:
The incumbent must possess basic oral and written communication skills in order to communicate with supervisors and co-workers. Reading skills are necessary to ensure safety compliance when dealing with picking orders and understanding labels, part numbers and job orders.
Length & Nature of Prior
Experience:
One year of previous forklift experience is required.
- Operates roll form machines.
- Feeds steel into mill and sets required length.
- Adjusts tooling as per documentation.
- Performs production quality inspections for multiple profiles.
- Performs housekeeping.
- Any other duty requested by management.
