General Statement of Function
The Custodian will provide cleaning services at assigned locations to ensure a clean, safe, and professional appearance of campus buildings is maintained at all times. The custodian will report to the Assistant Superintendent of Support Services.
Job Duties- Work under the direction of the immediate Supervisor and Chief of Staff and perform all duties as assigned.
- Perform all duties assigned in a timely manner.
- Accountable for all tools, equipment, and supplies issued.
- Perform all duties observing safety procedures and utilizing proper equipment (safety glasses, gloves, caution tape/tags, wet floor signs, etc.).
- Responsible for the appearance and cleanliness of campus facilities.
- Assist with the movement of equipment and furniture as well as setup and tear down for campus functions.
- Responsible for adhering to established procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Work with other personnel as assigned.
- As necessary, work special events as scheduled, and all other hours as required.
- Must be able to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and other physically demanding duties.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and walk up and down a flight of stairs.
- Adhere to all college policies and procedures.
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalency.
- Valid Driver’s License and must remain in good standing while employed.
- Custodial experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with college personnel and students.
- Ability to decorate and arrange accessories in a way that enhances the overall look and functionality, using creativity and a sense of style.
- Responsible for organizing and maintaining supplies and decorations, ensuring all items are stored properly and easily accessible for upcoming events or tasks.
- Assist in the setup and preparation of events, including arranging furniture, decorations, and equipment as needed to ensure the event space is ready on time.
- Experience using a floor machine, buffer, or extractor.
- Three or more years of custodial experience.
- Custodial experience in an educational setting.
