Responsibilities
  • Provides patient care in both the emergency and non-emergency environment according to company policy and medical director protocols.
  • Respond to all calls for service dispatched from the Ameri Pro EMS communications center as directed.
  • Ensure ambulance and all equipment are cleaned and checked daily; report any deficiencies immediately.
  • Prepare and complete appropriate reports including PCRs, billing, exposure, incident reports, and unit check-offs.
  • Adhere to Ameri Pro EMS policies, procedures, guidelines, directives and standards; report deficiencies to the shift supervisor or Director of Operations.
  • Ensure vehicle is placed in-service in compliance with laws, rules, licenses and regulations as outlined by applicable authorities.
  • Maintain readiness and professionalism while on-duty; maintain a professional appearance and conduct in company uniform.
  • Self-motivated with minimal supervision; perform other duties as required.
  • Demonstrates the ability to safely lift, transfer and maneuver patients in and out of ambulances, facilities, residences and other locations.
Qualifications

EMT Job Qualifications

REQUIRED Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification
  • State specific Emergency Medical Technician certification / licensure in good standing / current NREMT certification if applicable by state law
  • Current CPR: BLS certification
  • Valid state specific Drivers’ license
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check and drug screening
  • Strong people skills and proven ability to collaborate within a team
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English
  • FEMA IS certs: IS-100; IS-200; IS-700; IS-800

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working as an EMT or in a similar medical role
  • PHTLS and/or ITLS training
Knowledge, Skills And Ability
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques for providing on-site emergency medical services
  • Knowledge of approved protocols and standing orders
  • Ability to read and interpret local maps
  • Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous, and rapidly emergent tasks
  • Ability to read and understand medical terminology; write reports and correspondence
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions regarding patient care and operations
  • Ability to use computer systems including PCR reporting, email and MDT applications
  • Ability to represent Ameri Pro EMS professionally
Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently stands and walks. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, stand, or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 180 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 300 pounds with assistance.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Working Environment

EMS care may involve exposure to inclement weather, hazardous conditions, and other stresses. Frequent interruptions, work pressure and irregular hours may occur. Some meetings may take place outside of regular working hours.
