This position is with the Mississippi Forensic Laboratory in Pearl, Rankin County. This is an entry-level technical position that will serve as a Forensic Evidence Technician. It involves assisting with the maintenance of the laboratory’s computerized evidence inventory management system; preparing and sending physical evidence to scientists performing examinations; on-the-job training; providing instructions to forensics law enforcement groups, schools, and other entities;
assisting in maintaining records of testimonies relevant to cases; and helping with the preparation, development, and presentation of lectures regarding evidence collected. Supervision is received from an administrative superior.

- Typically requires an Associate’s degree and 0-2 year of experience. Agency preferred qualifications:
Requires an Associate’s degree from an accredited university. Experience with evidence handling is preferred.
