Location: Clyde
Joining the project at Concept Design stage, you will be required to influence the development of engineering solutions for a new build, multi-discipline, Nuclear Safety Implicated facility. You will collaborate with a multi‑functional project delivery team and interface with external stakeholders, including end‑user client representatives, partner designers, sub‑designers/consultants and our own supply chain to optimally balance time, cost, quality and safety.

- Plan and coordinate technical scope elements throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring proper implementation of the scope for successful delivery.
- Coordinate inputs with functional SMEs and supply chain partners to support the Project Manager in project engineering and contractor management activities.
- Lead and grow a small team of MEICA engineers, holding accountability for the outputs from your team.
- Deliver the assigned MEICA scope through agreed phases, meeting legislative and project requirements in accordance with Morgan Sindall standards and customer satisfaction criteria.
- Present engineering solutions at Concept/ Early Design stage and throughout construction, commissioning and handover.
- Oversee contract/sub‑contract management activities, ideally in accordance with NEC form of contract.
- Level 6 Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree, class 2:1 or above in mechanical or electrical engineering, ideally accredited by a professional engineering institution such as IMechE, IET, IChemE or CIBSE.
- Alternative:
Level 4 mechanical or electrical engineering qualification with relevant experience and CPD training. - Specific training in your primary discipline (Mechanical or Electrical) with a wider multi‑discipline understanding.
- Experience in project life‑cycle inputs through gated processes from Concept Design to Setting to Work and Handover.
- Experience influencing engineering solutions from Concept/ Early Design stage.
- Contract / Sub‑contract management experience, ideally in accordance with NEC.
- UK sole national with ability to obtain SC level Security Clearance in compliance with client security policy.
- Technical experience (though not essential) in power generation projects, procurement and setting to work of diesel genset and ancillary systems, HV/LV systems, mechanical services.

- Understand team dynamics, lead across boundaries, and develop a corporate perspective when situations are unclear, complicated or pressured.
- Create resource plans for unfamiliar or complex projects and manage diverse skills to deliver results.
- Collect and collate information on the reality of the situation, knowing where you stand and building a winnable case.
- Understand strengths and weaknesses of team members, manage expectations, and grow a team aligned with business objectives.
- Coach and mentor on collaborative relationships.
