Qualifications- Valid Mississippi teaching license with certification in elementary education, English, math, remedial reading, or special education
- Minimum of five years exemplary classroom teaching experience
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Must be able to provide leadership and coordination to school level efforts to support students at all academic levels, but specifically at-risk (bottom quartile, Tier 3, Tier
2)

Job SummaryThe basic function of this position is to be responsible for the development, review, implementation, and revision of specific curriculum. The team will also supervise the instructional support personnel; provide leadership in developing, achieving, and maintaining the best possible educational programs and services.
Essential Functions- Assists with providing professional development relating to appropriate pedagogy and methodologies.
- Guides development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and instruction.
- Assists in the development and evaluation of preservice and in service training programs for professional personnel as it relates to curriculum and instruction.
- Assists all curricula staff and works with building principals in the improvement of student achievement.
- Communicates the approved curriculum to the professional staff and maintains a list of approved instructional materials and resources.
- Works with principals and teachers in organizing and coordinating grade level and department meetings, to effect horizontal and vertical continuity and articulation of the instructional program throughout the district.
- Assists in creating and editing of publications for all curriculum guides and materials prepared by instructional staff and distributes to appropriate audience.
- Assists in renewing and evaluating results of school and district wide data to influence curriculum decisions.
- Assists with Reading Fair, Spelling Bee, and Science Fair activities.
- Interprets test results and assists local sites with planning instructional interventional focus for students.
- Works with teachers in the development and implementation of their individualized growth plan as required.
- Aligns instruction, assessments, and expectations.
- Provides training in instructional strategies, lesson plan development.
- Assists in facilitating planning and implementing the job-embedded professional development activities in collaboration with the building principal and CIA Team.
- Assists with meeting monthly with school-based coaching teachers and principals in order to facilitate vertical communication regarding instructional needs and issues.
- Attends conferences and workshops and serves on various committees as required.
- Research of professional periodicals and attends staff development activities in order to improve skills and professional knowledge.
- Works with content area training for teachers as assigned.
- Performs other related duties as requested or assigned.
- Assists in the fostering and promotion of a positive school/office climate.
- Maintains a professional demeanor during all interactions between colleagues, parents, students, and administration.
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
