Qualifications:Applicants must have:
- A. Completed at least 2 years of study (48 semester hours) at an institution of higher education; or
- B. Obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree; or
- C. Met a rigorous standard of quality as determined by a formal assessment. Mississippi uses ACT Work Keys® assessment scores to measure this standard.
To provide a well‑organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials; to establish effective rapport with pupils; to motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation education, in accordance with each pupil’s ability;
Functions:Such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned, including but not limited to:
- INSTRUCTION AND ASSESSMENT:
The paraprofessional as ATSI interventionist at PUE will deliver small group instruction program to underperforming students in an organized and effective manner by: - By following a program and directives that engages students in learning to build fundamental skills to help them get closer to grade level.
- Learning how to effectively deliver instruction and routinely use desired remediation programs.
- Recognizing and responding appropriately to individual differences in students.
- Implementing adopted curriculum subject matter standards and assessment instruments to meet school and district goals.
- Demonstrating knowledge of the subjects to be taught and the relationship to other subjects.
- Reflecting on teaching and devising ways of improving performance on an ongoing basis.
- Collaborating with other educators to create the most complete educational environment possible for students.
- Utilizing technology in the teaching and learning process.
- CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT – The paraprofessional with instructional duties will exhibit effective classroom management skills by
- Providing a physical environment that is safe, orderly, hazard‑free, and conducive to learning.
