Position Summary:

The Coordinator of Leadership Service is a full-time professional staff member reporting to the Director for Student Mentorship Leadership in the Department of Student Engagement. They will contribute to the office's mission of advancing student success and belonging through leadership development and community engagement. The coordinator supports the design, implementation, and assessment of leadership and service initiatives that provide accessible, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for students.

This position plays a key role in advancing a unified, department-wide framework for leadership learning, service, and engagement by supporting signature and ongoing initiatives, advising student leaders, and collaborating with campus and community partners. Coordinators in this role collectively support leadership education, student volunteerism, and dialogue-based learning opportunities that foster personal growth, social awareness, and community connection.

Key

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Support the planning, coordination, implementation, and assessment of leadership development and community engagement initiatives aligned with departmental learning outcomes and divisional priorities.

2. Contribute to both signature and ongoing leadership and service experiences, ensuring programs are accessible and responsive to student needs.

3. Assist with the development of leadership learning pathways that integrate reflection, skill-building, and civic responsibility.

4. Advise and co-advise student leadership councils, committees, or organizations connected to leadership development and service initiatives, with specific assignments determined by office needs.

5. Support student leaders in goal setting, organizational management, event planning, and leadership development.

6. Foster student learning through intentional advising practices that emphasize self-awareness, collaboration, ethical leadership, and community impact.

7. Support and facilitate leadership workshops, presentations, and trainings for students, student organizations, and campus partners.

8. Contribute to dialogue-based learning opportunities, including sessions that promote constructive dialogue, civic engagement, and social responsibility.

9. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure leadership education efforts are aligned across the department and responsive to emerging campus needs.

10. Communicate and collaborate regularly with faculty, staff, students, and community partners to support leadership and service initiatives.

11. Maintain and strengthen community partnerships that provide meaningful service and engagement opportunities for students.

12. Represent the department in campus and community meetings related to leadership development and civic engagement.

13. Assist with program assessment efforts, including data collection, evaluation, and reporting related to leadership and service initiatives.

14. Use assessment data and student feedback to inform program improvement and innovation.

15. Support the department's commitment to data-informed decision-making and continuous learning.

16. Provide general support for departmental events, initiatives, and priorities as needed.

17. Collaborate with colleagues across functional areas to advance an integrated model of student engagement and leadership development.

18. Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Pay Range: $35,570 - $42,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Social Sciences, or a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for the education requirement.
