Branch Sales Associate

Overview

Full-Time Branch Sales Associate position located at 1350 Azalea Drive, Waynesboro, MS (branch located inside Walmart).

Work hours are 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and until 2:00 p.m. Saturdays on a rotating shift. Initial training hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

• Must have flexibility to consistently work branch operating hours (8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. weekdays and until 2:00 p.m. Saturdays) on a rotating shift once passwords are earned. Initial training hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• A minimum of one-year steady work history handling cash and directly assisting customers is required. Teller or new accounts experience is a plus but not required.
• A working knowledge of debits and credits and general accounting skills is desired for those without teller experience.
• A general working knowledge of computers and moderate keyboarding skills is necessary; working knowledge of Horizon is a plus.
• Necessary skills include organizational ability, problem solving, effective written and verbal communication (in person and by phone), and the ability to work independently according to Bank policy and procedure.
• Essential skills include an aptitude for basic math and a desire to serve customers.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic evidenced by a solid work history and motivation to grow in a banking career.
• Must present oneself professionally in dress and demeanor and be friendly.

Note: A Branch Sales Associate at the Walmart location is a visible face of First State Bank and provides a critical link between the Bank and customers. A genuine interest in serving customers is key.

• Teller: handle intake of checking and savings account transactions, including cashing and processing checks, withdrawals and deposits; maintain incoming and outgoing collections items; possibly order and receive currency/coins; balance daily; issue money orders and cashier s checks; assist customers with questions regarding accounts and general banking needs; maintain order and security of transaction records; perform duties as assigned and follow safety rules and regulations.
• New Accounts: apply product and services knowledge to assess customer needs (cross-selling) and assist with questions; scan paperwork timely; avoid exceptions or clear exceptions according to regulatory guidelines.
• Branch Sales Associates are expected to fill in for one another as needed.

• Other duties or responsibilities may be assigned.

Expectations are to perform all job duties and other responsibilities as assigned and to follow all safety rules and regulations.

Note: Regular attendance according to the work schedule is necessary and essential; extensive reading and computer use is expected the majority of the time. Job involves standing and sitting for long periods. Adherence to all safety and security regulations and completion of assigned duties is required.
