Job Title Admissions Specialist - Harrison County Campus
Job DescriptionThis position assists the Director of Admissions and Records with all aspects of admissions operations and performs the administrative duties required of the role.
Job Duties- Perform document intake by scanning admissions documents into Perceptive Content, updating student records in Banner, and reviewing files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Verify and post transcripts to student accounts.
- Process compliance documentation for concurrently enrolled high school students and communicate regularly with designated staff regarding student status.
- Review assigned reports (e.g., missing items, non‑compliant lists) regularly and notify students of outstanding requirements in a timely manner.
- Complete internal and external records requests and ensure proper delivery.
- Distribute all forms necessary for the admissions process.
- Assist with processing admissions applications as directed.
- Conduct initial review of residency documentation and forward to appropriate personnel for final determination.
- Support the coordination and execution of Admissions Office functions, including orientation, registration, and graduation.
- Assist with audit preparation related to enrollment and admissions.
- Prepare reports and memos as assigned.
- Respond to admissions‑related inquiries via email and phone.
- Assist with general office functions, sharing responsibilities with other Admissions staff at both campus and district level.
- Maintain effective working relationships with students, campus personnel, and the community.
- Maintain knowledge of and comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and all college policies and procedures.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance job performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions and Records.
- (M1) Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Business and Office Technology or a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
- (M2) Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in an office setting.
- (M3) Proficiency in the use of personal computers and Microsoft Office.
- (M4) Strong organizational skills and effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- (D1) Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
- (D2) Experience working in an Office of Admissions & Records or another Student Services area in a postsecondary setting.
- (D3) Experience with Perceptive Content or other document imaging software.
- (D4) Proficiency with Banner or other student information systems software.
- (D5) Experience maintaining student records and knowledge of FERPA guidelines.
