Position SummaryThe Accounting Manager will assist in preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAP under the supervision of the Controller. The role is responsible for identifying and preventing discrepancies, establishing internal controls, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance.
Responsibilities- Support accounting processes: general ledger, tax, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reporting.
- Formulate internal controls and policies to comply with the COSO framework and best practices.
- Prepare financial statements and assist in audit work papers.
- Manage month‑end journal entry process and review account reconciliations.
- Identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances in accounting information.
- Develop operational procedures and document data flow.
- Assist IT with troubleshooting system issues.
- Manage inventory accounting, variance analysis, and cost revaluation.
- Assist the Controller with producing accurate and timely financial statements.
- Develop and manage accounting & finance personnel, establish a strategic personnel structure.
- Assist in special projects as required.
- Supervise assigned staff: hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation.
- Proven experience as accounting manager or equivalent.
- B.S./B.A. in accounting, finance or relevant field (required).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and related regulations.
- Knowledge of budgeting, financial closure, reporting, data analysis.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics BC 26).
- Experience with Power BI and/or AI tools.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and problem‑solving ability.
- CPA or other professional certification is a plus.
- People‑management skills, including performance management.
Responsible for Accounting, AR and AP team members.
Work EnvironmentA typical office environment located at 776 Greene Street, Tupelo, MS.
Physical DemandsStand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, talk or hear. Occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Location:
Tupelo, MS. Salary: $70,000 – $154,000 annually.
