Primary PurposeReporting to the National Logistics Manager, the Logistics Planner ensures the correct mix of resources (driver, equipment) for the efficient delivery of product, maximizing assets, while minimizing distribution costs.
Key Accountabilities- Monitor, review and analyze customer usage.
- Review and update trips to ensure accuracy and meet customer needs.
- Maintain effective communications with drivers, equipment suppliers, sales, plant personnel and garages; resolve issues to achieve lowest distribution costs.
- Analyze asset utilization and distribution costs, adjusting the distribution plan to meet agreed distribution costs.
- Plan just-in-time deliveries to Praxair customers based on government regulations (Canada/US), driver hours of service guidelines, equipment and product availability.
- Analyze and manage plant inventory, ensuring movement of product to needed regions while minimizing product cost.
- Degree/Diploma or equivalent experience in Logistic/Production planning or related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in a logistics environment or related field.
- Proficiency in French is considered a strong asset.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Attention to detail and results oriented.
- Able to work under pressure with a strong sense of urgency.
- Commitment to client and personal safety.
- Maintain client confidentiality.
- Rotational 12-hour shift format: 4 days on / 4 days off, day or night.
