Hi 👋🏾 I’m Abhik, Ashby’s Co‑Founder and VP of Engineering. We’re looking for a versatile, persistent product engineer who will build reusable building blocks across the stack and advocate for the time and space to do so. At Ashby, engineers ship features end‑to‑end at a high pace. You’ll own large portions of our products, driving product and design decisions, and delivering on both the user experience and the underlying technology.

Ashby serves customers such as Notion, Linear, Shopify, and Snowflake. We have tens of millions in ARR, growing >100% YoY with very low churn. You’ll be part of a team that is simultaneously experiencing early‑stage agility and growth‑stage scale.

• Take ownership over a large portion of one of our products and own end‑to‑end projects.
• Research competitors, write product specs, design wireframes, build prototypes, and implement solutions.
• Drive product and design decisions while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
• Build reusable, high‑quality components such as a declarative filter architecture, automated interview scheduling, and in‑app offer signing.
• Advocate for best engineering practices and toolsets across the stack.

• Strong full‑stack engineering experience in Type Script, React, Graph
  
  QL, Node.js, Postgres, or similar typed languages.
• Hands‑on experience building products with significant product and technical ambiguity.
• Comfortable tackling any part of the tech stack, from frontend to infrastructure.
• Balance speed and quality, pushing for high‑quality releases while moving fast.
• Excellent communicator and collaborator; able to vet decisions with stakeholders.
• Driven to create leverage by automating or abstracting recurring work.
• Senior‑level experience (Mid‑Senior or above); 3+ years in professional engineering.

• You’re not afraid to take full ownership and write end‑to‑end code.
• You thrive on ambiguity and have built powerful abstractions to solve broad problems.
• You’re ambitious, constantly looking for improvement, and open to feedback.
• You collaborate effectively and keep stakeholders informed.
• You create leverage through automation, tooling, and best‑practice hardening.

• Looking for heavy process or structured project management (Agile ceremonies).
• Prefer strictly technical or strictly management tracks—our senior engineers build and lead.
• Only interested in high‑level, short‑term assignments without deep ownership.
• Require mentoring opportunities—most at Ashby are peer‑owned and senior.
• Strongly need “leadership” in terms of arranging meetings and controlling teams.
