In collaboration with the Director, Security and Compliance, the Aviation Security Specialist supports the administration of security programs, assists internal teams in implementing regulatory requirements, and leads investigations related to security incidents.
Key Responsibilities
• Document, maintain, and update the Air Operator Security Programs (AOSP) required by various authorities.
• Document and maintain procedures, manuals, plans, and processes related to security.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support the implementation of security programs and requirements.
• Investigate security breaches or incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Process security reports: analysis, investigation, risk assessment, identification of root causes, and follow-up on corrective actions.
• Develop security-related performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure their follow‑up.
• Conduct security inspections and support liaison with regulatory and airport authorities, including CBSA.
• Participate in risk analyses for the opening of new stations, new destinations, or specific operational agreements.
• College diploma in a relevant field (transportation, aviation, security, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 7 years of experience with an airline and in airport operations.
• Strong knowledge of airline operations, airport processes, and industry terminology.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, thoroughness, and professionalism.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both internally and externally.
• Proficiency with MS Office and ability to work with internal security management systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
• Oral and written fluency in English and French;
Spanish is strongly recommended.
The incumbent will be required to communicate frequently in English and Spanish, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders in Quebec and internationally.
* The position can be based in Toronto or Montreal.
