Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Interface Coordination Manager to join our Interface Coordination Group, supporting the delivery of complex infrastructure programs within a live airport environment. This role demands a self-starter with a proven ability to take initiative, drive coordination across diverse stakeholder groups, and manage the impacts of construction activities on airport operations. This position is based on-site, out of Mississauga.

This position is for a newly created position.

We are seeking professionals to join our team to help us build one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world.

We are looking to hire 4 individuals for this role. These positions will support various aviation-related projects, including:

  • Agency Engagement

  • ORAT Interface Manager

  • Airside Operations

  • Terminals

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead interface coordination across for a specific airport department and/or business units to ensure seamless integration of the program and ongoing operations.
  • Proactively identify and assess potential impacts of construction activities on airport functions, working closely with business units to develop and implement robust mitigation plans.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to align project requirements, approvals, and inspections with operational constraints.
  • Provide specialist project management expertise to support the coordination of organizational interfaces and requirements.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely communication and resolution of interface risks and opportunities.
  • Deliver clear and actionable reporting to the Delivery Cabinet and Interface Management Group to support strategic decision-making.
  • Coach, mentor, and support junior team members to build capability and foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum:

  • University Degree with 8 + years of relevant experience in project / program management, including on large airport projects or equivalent infrastructure programs.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in project/program management, with at least 5 years in large international airport projects or equivalent infrastructure programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and deliver complex infrastructure projects in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong technical capability across all project phases: design, planning, construction, operations, and maintenance, preferably within aviation.
  • Deep understanding of (airport) operations, including safety, security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience in coordinating construction activities in live airport environments, minimizing disruption to operations.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement, with the ability to lead workshops, facilitate meetings, and drive consensus.
  • Experience conducting impact assessments and developing mitigation strategies in collaboration with operational departments and other business units.
  • Recognized degree and professional designation in a relevant field (airport operations, project management, etc.) considered an asset.
  • A proactive self-starter who thrives in dynamic environments and takes ownership of challenges.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Additional Information

This position requires work on-site/out of the office 5 days a week.
