Position Summary

Vertiv is hiring a Field Services HVAC Representative in Toronto/GTA, responsible for service, installation, commissioning, scheduled and emergency service on Liebert cooling products served by Vertiv, with appropriate certification. The role requires establishing, promoting, and maintaining excellent rapport with all customers, co‑workers, sales representatives, and others as appropriate. The representative must maintain continuous communication with CRC, Area/District Offices, and the direct manager.

Responsibilities
  • Role: Rely on direction to accomplish goals; perform a number of work‑related tasks; capable of working under direct supervision or independently based on training.
  • Technical: Render on‑site and phone assistance to customers; communicate with technical support on equipment issues; perform work related tasks per company guidelines for scheduled maintenance; implement Field Change Notices (FCN) per published guidelines; stay current on safety bulletins, field change notices, and service tips.
  • Safety: Operate safely per published guidelines; wear appropriate PPE; adhere to work hours policy ("14 hour rule"); report all work related accidents or injuries within 24 hours.
  • Administration: Provide accurate and timely reporting (timecards, expense reports, mileage, ticket closure, forms, and others); maintain individual inventory; estimate time of arrival to CRC; maintain company property.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Communicate properly and adequately with internal and external customers; provide ETA; complete scheduled maintenance documentation; strive for first‑time fix; maintain satisfaction rates; attend customer meetings as required.
  • Performance: Maximize productivity by combining opportunities; complete work efficiently; make technical and commercial decisions under pressure; evaluate site and equipment for billing; maintain utilization rate; perform inventory cycle counts; adhere to dress code and safety; comply with startup/escalation processes; maintain internal communications with managers, coworkers, support services, electronics, etc.
Qualifications
  • Required education: High School Diploma or HVAC Trade Credentials; 313A 4th Year Apprentice or 313A Journeyman.
  • Experience: 3-5 years relevant industry/commercial experience.
  • Interpersonal skills: Professional, reliable, team player; proficient with electrical/electronic test equipment and fundamentals; proficient in interpreting line diagrams and blueprints.
  • Technical skills: In‑depth site evaluations, environmental temperature and general operating conditions; ability to perform fix/repair techniques; proper brazing techniques; complete tasks and return unit to full operating condition; summarize and report all work.
  • Core skill sets: Communication, customer service, troubleshooting, safety, organization/planning, computer, mechanical aptitude.
  • Working conditions: Travel required; flexible schedules (weekends, evenings, holidays); valid driver’s license.
  • Physical & Environmental demands: Stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, smell; frequently sit, climb, balance; need good vision; lift at least 50 lb.
  • Time travel required: 10 %.
