Mainframe Programmer

Overview

Responsible for designing and maintaining the operating environment that powers the Firm’s z-platform computing infrastructure. This role ensures high availability, performance, and scalability to meet evolving business needs.

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
• Hands‑on expertise in z/OS internals
• Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience with catalog management
• Proven troubleshooting skills, especially in high‑pressure production outage scenarios
• Proficiency in USS/OMVS
• Experience with z/OS and ISV software installations
• Advanced testing capabilities (designing tests for functionality, robustness, and performance)
• Solid understanding of HCD and hardware configuration
• Programming experience in REXX
• Availability for weekend support and on‑call rotation
• Familiarity with modern z/OS technologies such as zOSMF, REST APIs, Kafka, Ansible, Python (preferred)
• Assembler skills for usermod maintenance and dump analysis (desirable but not mandatory)

• Strong analytical and investigative mindset with creative problem‑solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
