Cognos BI Lead Job Mississauga area,Ontario Canada,IT/Tech

Job Description:

Requirement/Must Have:

5+ years of experience in Cognos development and Business Intelligence solutions.

Strong expertise in Cognos Analytics, Framework Manager, Report Studio, and dashboard development.

Solid understanding of data modeling concepts.

Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases.

Proven ability to lead projects and collaborate in fast-paced environments.

Experience:

Hands-on experience designing and developing Cognos BI reports and dashboards.

Experience translating business requirements into technical specifications.

Experience leading or guiding BI development efforts.

Responsibilities:

Lead the architecture and development of Cognos BI solutions across the organization.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define technical designs.

Design and implement data models, reports, and dashboards aligned with business objectives.

Ensure performance, scalability, data accuracy, and reliability of BI solutions.

Conduct testing and validation of reports and dashboards.

Mentor and guide junior BI developers on best practices and tools.

Stay current with industry trends and emerging analytics technologies.

Should Have:

Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica or Data Stage.

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.

Prior leadership experience within a BI or analytics team.

Relevant certifications in Cognos or data analytics.

Skills:

Cognos Analytics and reporting tools.

Data modeling and BI architecture.

SQL and relational database management systems.

Data visualization techniques and methodologies.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Qualification and

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (preferred).
