Technology Product Management Lead Product Owner
The Technology Product Management Lead Product Owner is a strategic professional who leads the definition and delivery of product capabilities within the Risk and Controls domain, focusing on Risk Control Self‑Assessment (RCSA) and monitoring and testing platforms. The role requires hands‑on experience in Agile environments and partnership with business, risk, compliance, and technology teams to translate control and regulatory requirements into scalable, well‑designed product solutions.
The role operates across multiple Scrum teams, requiring strong dependency management, early identification of risks, and effective coordination across platforms and stakeholders.
Experience with AI‑enabled capabilities is a strong plus.
Responsibilities
Own the product/value stream vision and drive strategic outcomes for the Scrum Team(s) supported.
Manage the product backlog for risk and control capabilities.
Inspire the team to deliver upon the goals.
Lead the functional design process and story mapping, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and prioritization activities.
Continuously review business needs, refine priorities, outline milestones and deliverables, and identify opportunities and risks.
Create features and functionalities that enable business goals by collaborating with stakeholders.
Prioritize the backlog to maximize business value.
Facilitate backlog decomposition sessions with technology teams to define requirements from a user perspective, including acceptance criteria and breaking down large stories for the team to consume in one sprint.
Partner with the technology team to break down large stories based on estimation.
Participate in testing/review sessions and provide support for release.
Accept work completed by the team prior to release to production.
Identify and manage cross‑team and cross‑platform dependencies early in the delivery lifecycle.
Proactively highlight delivery risks, data dependencies, and integration challenges, and work with stakeholders to drive timely resolution.
Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and target‑state platforms.
Track and report product performance post‑launch to evaluate or request future investment.
Create strong feedback loops by leading agile events seeking continuous feedback from stakeholders and incorporate it into the backlog to achieve desired outcomes.
Develop the culture of using OKRs to align team members on the purpose of the work and cascade feedback related to risk and dependencies.
Participate in Scrum events representing the Product and aligning with the Product Manager vision.
Communicate priorities, dependencies, risks, and delivery status clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
Support informed decision‑making by articulating trade‑offs and impacts across teams and timelines.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a customer‑centric mindset.
7–10 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or related role in Agile environments within the Technology Risk and Control domain.
