Purpose:This position contributes to the provision of a multitude of medications to our patients. The RPhT will be responsible for performing a double verification of the compounding process/steps in our clean rooms and for other tasks within the scope of practice.

- Perform verification of pharmaceutical medication dilutions and weight
- Perform verification during the various stages of the compounding process
- Support the pharmacist’s team in searching for stability/compatibility data and assigning BUDs
- Perform narcotic destruction and assist the Designated Pharmacy Manager in narcotic reconciliation
- Perform final check and dispense prescriptions as per the scope of practice
- Support the Compounding Specialist (in training staff, environmental monitoring, sterility testing, updating P&Ps, creating compounding protocols, etc.)
- Compound Sterile and Non-Sterile Preparations in compliance with NAPRA Standards and company’s P&Ps
- Monitor pharmacy validation processes in the clean rooms and maintain pharmacy records
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice of a Registered Pharmacy Technician
- Accreditation as a Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing and adherence to the Standards of Practice with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Experience with sterile compounding an asset
- Experience with KROLL is an asset
- Strong interpersonal oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to exercise leadership and sound judgement
- Competency in prioritizing and multitasking in a busy environment
- Ability to learn and stay up to date with sterile and non-sterile compounding standards
