We are continuously accepting applicationsThe Manager, Trade Compliance Operations, will report to the Director, Trade Compliance and is responsible for trade compliance of assigned Husqvarna business unit(s). This person oversees all trade compliance aspects of borders crossing inbound and outbound shipments for these business units. Key to this is driving business results and best practices through compliance and strong collaboration with functional leaders and teams across the company.
The positional will also develop and implement tools and processes for continuous improvement, and assist related sites with day-to-day trade compliance activities.
Further to that, the Manager, Trade Compliance Operations will support the NA Trade Compliance mission to ensure that all Husqvarna products are correctly classified, imported or exported and proper records are maintained in support of those activities. For this reason the Manager, Trade Compliance Operations will have in-depth knowledge of Customs Regulations, the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and Export Regulations.
What You Need to Know:
Support business needs relating to CARM and SWI initiatives.
Manage process of qualifying finished goods and components to various free trade agreements (e.g. CUSMA, CETA, etc.).
Support audits conducted by government agencies such as Canada Border Services Agency, Canada Revenue Agency, etc. as it relates to import and export activities.
Assist with authoring and maintaining Import and Export Compliance Manual for Canada operations.
Collaborate with brokers to file post summary corrections or protests with the Canadian Border Service Agency as applicable.
Determine application of Participating Government Agency (PGA) regulations for applicable HTS codes and imports.
Drive strategic trade compliance program efficiency, including risk assessment, risk management and respond to issues that are identified.
Ensure accurate and complete recordkeeping of all trade transactions pursuant to domestic and international trade requirements.
Ensure Husqvarna operations are adhering to the requirements set forth in the Husqvarna Import Compliance Manual(s) and Husqvarna Export Compliance Manual(s).
Independently and routinely conduct import and export compliance audits of day-to-day trade activities, content, documentation and record keeping.
Interpret Customs rulings, explanatory notes, and technical product drawing to assist in assignment of proper HTS classifications.
Produce compliance training materials and conduct training for internal stakeholders.
Promote transparency, visibility and best practices in our import and export compliance processes.
Respond to and assist with problems or questions that may come up concerning any import or export transactions or shipments.
Responsible for other duties as assigned.
Support audits conducted by government agencies such as Canada Border Service Agency or other agencies relating to international shipments.
What We Are Looking For:
Broad range of experience and capabilities with Customs regulations, communications and general importer/exporter customs operations.
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in trade compliance, with specific expertise in Canada Border Services Agency regulations and compliance practices.
Preferred Education, Associate's Degree, Technical Degree, Business Administration Degree, International Trade Compliance Certification or equivalent years of experience in a Trade Compliance role.
Strong knowledge of international trade laws and regulations, including tariffs, trade agreements, and customs procedures.
Proficiency in performing internal audits using established methodologies.
Experience with customs entry and export/import processes and software.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and collaborate with different departments.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
Understanding of Canada Border Services Agency operational requirements.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Technical aptitude manipulating data using Excel, Access, ERP platform software, SaaS software, and additional proprietary software systems.
Team player, self-starter, problem solver and strong critical thinking skills.
