Senior Financial Analyst

Our client, a Publicly Traded organization, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for an 18-month contract to provide maternity leave coverage. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong month-end and quarter-end foundation, with oversight responsibility for one direct report.

*** This role is hybrid and is 2 days a week in office

The main Responsibilities include the following;

Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes

Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and expense reconciliations

Update assumptions and support forecasting inputs

Prepare and review working papers and financial statement schedules

Support financial statement preparation

Review work prepared by one junior team member

Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of reporting deliverables

To be considered for this role, our client is looking for someone with the following skills/qualifications;

5+ years of progressive accounting/financial reporting experience

Public company experience strongly preferred

Strong reconciliation experience

Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, complex reconciliations)

Experience preparing and reviewing financial statement support

CPA designation is an asset but not required. Overseas equivalent or equivalent work experience

Proven ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment

This role requires a strong technical accountant who can step in quickly, review work, and ensure reporting deadlines are met with minimal supervision.
