Position: Accountant - Advanced - 177559-1
Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking an experienced Manager, Insurance Reporting – Finance to join their dynamic team. This role is best suited for a highly skilled accounting professional with strong financial services expertise, advanced technical knowledge, and a passion for driving process improvements. The successful candidate will play a key role in monthly and quarterly reporting, financial analysis, and supporting insurance-related financial operations, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance reporting processes and provide valuable insights for business decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly journal entries, financial statements, and reporting packages.

• Support external audit processes through documentation and responses to auditor requests.

• Research and implement changes in reporting requirements, including the creation or revision of journal entries and investigation of reporting issues.

• Contribute proactive, detailed financial analysis to explain results and assist in forecasting.

• Partner with business units to improve information flow and support management decision-making.

• Collaborate with Finance team members to streamline reporting processes and enhance efficiency.

• Handle ad hoc requests related to journal entries, forecasts, and planning.

• Act as a backup for other roles within the department when required.

• Drive process improvement initiatives and maintain up-to-date documentation.

Qualifications
Must-Have:

• CPA designation (CA, CMA, CGA), MBA, or equivalent experience.

• Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in finance roles within the financial services industry.

• Advanced Excel skills with strong proficiency in Windows-based software and financial analytic systems.

• Experience using technical accounting tools (e.g., Tableau).

• Strong initiative, client-centric focus, and ability to work independently.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
Nice-to-Have:

• Knowledge of insurance products and insurance accounting.

• Experience with financial systems and analytical tools.
