Prepare detailed design calculations and analysis of mechanical equipment for Heavy Industry ( Steel, Material Handling, Mining)

Coordinate mechanical design work with that performed by other engineering disciplines.

Be capable, if the need arises, to coordinate and direct the work of a small group of mechanical designers and draftspersons.

Prepare proposals, feasibility studies, reports, and preliminary designs.

Prepare detailed design calculations, conceptual layouts, and sketches.

Develop initial concepts into final designs, which would include preparing detail drawings, assemblies, bills of material, etc.

Investigate field problems, and prepare reports.

Provide on-site technical support during major machinery installations.

Provide support to the sales team when visiting customers.

Provide technical guidance to co-workers.

Mechanical Product Design,Custom Design,Solid Works

Must be capable of CREATIVE, out-of-the-box thinking, in order to solve unique engineering problems.

B.SC OR

B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering. P.Eng. registration in the Province of Ontario is preferred but not mandatory

Minimum of 10 years’ combined experience in the design of Steel Mill and/or heavy industrial machinery design (e.g. mining)

Knowledge of the design, fabrication, and installation of heavy mechanical equipment.

Proficient in the use of 3D Cad design software (preferably Solid Works).

Strong computer oriented skills (familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Office, FEA Analysis, Math, CAD, etc.

Strong communication skills, verbal and written
