Salary Range: $45,/annum

The Opportunity:

The Bilingual Proofreader is responsible for French and English materials across a variety of formats, including digital and printed flyers, seasonal POP displays, magazines, newsletters, and special projects. This role requires exceptional grammar, editing, and communication skills in both languages, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. The ideal candidate thrives under tight timelines, ensuring all materials are accurate, consistent, and polished while meeting deadlines.

This role plays a crucial part in maintaining our brand's standards and delivering high-quality content across various platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Proofreading and Editing:
    Review and edit materials in both French and English for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting errors.
  • Content Quality Assurance:
    Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and tone of all written materials, adhering to brand guidelines and linguistic nuances.
  • Material Coverage:
    Oversee the proofreading of a variety of materials, including but not limited to:
    • Digital flyers
    • Printed flyers
    • Seasonal POP (Point of Purchase) displays
    • Magazines
    • Newsletters
    • Special requests and ah hoc projects
  • Collaboration:

    Work closely with design, marketing, and content teams to ensure that materials meet project goals and deadlines.
  • Document Management:
    Utilize Microsoft Word and Excel for tracking changes, managing revisions, and maintaining records of completed projects.

Requirements:

  • Language

    Skills:

    Fluency in both French & English is required.
  • Attention to Detail:
    Exceptional ability to spot and correct errors in both languages.
  • Editing Expertise:
    Strong knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and style.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.
  • Organizational

    Skills:

    Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Previous experience in proofreading or editing bilingual materials.
  • Familiarity with marketing or advertising content.
  • Knowledge of Quebec French is an asset.
