Safety Data Stewardship:
Manage and validate statistical data using software. You will track workplace inspections, risk reporting, and incident data to ensure 100% accuracy and completion.

Documentation & Training:
Create, update, and maintain Health & Safety manuals and training materials. You will be responsible for leading "Safety Talks" for office-based and remote personnel.

Audit Support:
Assist the Health & Safety Manager with national risk management and lead participation in provincial COR (Certificate of Recognition) audits.

Subcontractor Oversight:
Act as a validator to ensure that external service partners are consistently submitting required safety documentation as mandated by provincial regulations.

Special Projects:
Support the Human Resources team on various health, safety, and wellness initiatives as the business continues to grow across Canada.

Responsibilities
1. Data Management & Compliance
Oversee and validate all safety-related statistical data using software.

Monitor and track accidents, risk reporting, and workplace inspections to ensure they are completed on schedule by personnel and subcontractors.

Link and manage complex safety data across multiple spreadsheets to provide clear reporting to management.

2. Training & Content Creation
Develop and update safety training materials and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Lead and facilitate regularly scheduled "Safety Talks" for office and administrative staff.

Ensure all training records are maintained and up to date across various Canadian provinces.

3. Auditing & Risk Management
Provide essential support for provincial COR (Certificate of Recognition) audits (specifically for Ontario, Alberta, and BC).

Conduct internal workplace inspections and assist with special safety-related projects as required.

Ensure company documents and programs meet current provincial Health and Safety Acts and Regulations.

4. Subcontractor & Field Validation
Serve as the primary validator for subcontractor safety documentation, ensuring all external partners meet the company's compliance requirements before and during projects.

Work closely with Project Managers to bridge the gap between safety administrative requirements and field operations.

5. HR Support
Collaborate with the Human Resources team to maintain a safe working culture.

Assist with various administrative HR tasks and special projects as the safety function evolves.

Qualifications

Experience:

1–3 years of experience in Health & Safety (Service or Distribution industry experience is preferred).

Education:

Post-secondary degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.

Technical Proficiency:
Strong Microsoft Excel skills (ability to use formulas and link data between spreadsheets) and familiarity with safety management software.

Communication:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; you must be comfortable presenting safety topics and building relationships with Project Managers.

Mindset: A "self-starter" with high initiative who is comfortable working in an evolving department and isn't afraid to ask questions.
