Export Compliance Analyst
As an Export Compliance Analyst, you are responsible for managing all aspects of our export compliance program, including logistics and shipping arrangements.
Location: Mississauga, ON
Salary: $73,600 to $106,200

Your Challenge:
Main point of contact for matters related to Indal’s international trade and customs compliance
Ensure compliance with Canada’s export and import control laws and US extra-territorial export control laws
Manage and track all elements of export compliance in a Defense manufacturing environment
Provide advice and work with Indal’s shipping & logistics teams on customs related matters
Verify tariff treatment at B-3 level to determine if proper tariff treatment is applied
Obtain, support and track status of End User Statements, Export Permits, US re-export authorizations
Validate Export Classification and Jurisdiction of purchased and manufactured items (i.e. ECCN, USML, ECL) with support from Engineering, Procurement, Curtiss-Wright Global Trade Compliance and determine export requirements
Enter and manage export permit applications and status in Government of Canada Export Control Online System (EXCOL)
Establish system for monitoring upcoming shipments and export perimetry requirements, ensuring all export control elements have been addressed in time to support customer on-time delivery (OTD) targets
Prepare export documentation and arrange transportation for shipments via air, ocean, and ground (CERS). Obtain and file all shipping documentation including proof of delivery.
Liaise with freight forwarders and apply for Commercial Bill of Ladings (CBLs) or Government Bill of Ladings (GBL).
Arrange shipment along with import documentation for incoming international material shipments.
Follow customer shipping process instructions including labelling, documentation, and customer supplier portal requirements
Ensure dangerous goods packaging and documentation is in accordance with regulations.
Analyze and optimize operating costs within the logistics process, including review and approval of freight and broker invoices
Make recommendations to establish the most efficient method of material movement, balancing both cost and schedule
Manage and build relationships with key suppliers and customers to maintain a smooth supply chain
Ensure all work is performed according to the Quality Management System (QMS).
Follows every reasonable precaution to ensure work is performed following the Health & Safety procedures. Immediately report accidents and incidents and participate in their investigations.
What You Bring:
Minimum 5 years’ experience managing export compliance program
Defense and/or aerospace industry experience is considered an asset
Knowledge of & experience with the following regulations/systems:
Canada’s Export & Import Permits Act (EIPA),
Controlled Goods/International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
New Excol
Canadian Export Reporting System (CERS)
Export regulations, Export Permits, including entering and managing export permit applications and status in Government of Canada Export Control Online System (EXCOL)
Intermediate skills in MS Office suite of applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Experience with Wide Area Workflow (WAWF)/Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE), Repairables Portal experience considered an asset
