Overview

Food Service Worker. The Food Service Worker may also be referred to as a Cafe Worker or Food Service Associate. The role works in the hospital cafeteria and is responsible for preparing, serving, and delivering meals, ensuring food safety and cleanliness, adhering to dietary guidelines, supporting patient nutrition, healthcare hospitality, and serving staff and visitors. Responsibilities include maintaining kitchen equipment and inventory and contributing to overall food service operations at the hospital.

• Prepare and serve food to patients, staff, and visitors
• Ensure food safety by following hygiene and sanitation guidelines
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, slicers, or dishwashers
• Stock supplies and maintain inventory
• Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment
• Take and fulfill meal orders according to dietary guidelines for patients
• Handle cash or operate a register for cafeteria transactions
