Purpose of Position :
In keeping with the Mission/Vision/Values of Com Well, the Facilities Specialist II works with the Facility Manager to ensure the completion of facility and vehicle maintenance and transportation needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    This also includes consistently returning phone calls and e‑mails within 24 hours and updating voicemail/out of office e‑mail, as well as consistently using pleasant tone and having a helpful attitude.
  • Shows consideration for others, works cooperatively with any coworker; provides constructive feedback without undue criticism of others; displays appreciation of differences in approaches, personalities, and viewpoints of others. Works professionally, respectfully, positively and cooperatively within a team‑based framework to promote Com Well’s commitment to client personal growth.

  • Have a basic understanding of the impact trauma has on a person’s life. Be aware of the signs, symptoms and special needs a trauma survivor may have.
  • Have an understanding and commitment to self‑care practices to prevent or lessen the impact of secondary traumatization with staff and self.
  • Participate in and recognize role in Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) initiatives. Have a general awareness on the importance of quality improvement throughout the organization. Identify opportunities for improvement through data, observation of operations or consultation with staff, persons served or other stakeholders. Identification and input into opportunities for improvement is strongly encouraged.
  • Ability to perform building inspections independently and make recommendations for building maintenance needs. Including the ability to research the best solutions for the identified problem areas.
  • Ability to complete annual accessibility surveys at each Com Well facility. Submit completed paperwork with any needed recommendations.
  • Perform maintenance work as qualified; including but not limited to painting, monitoring of the water system, trouble shooting heating and air conditioning issues, assessing plumbing issues and performing minor carpentry skills.
  • Perform ground maintenance including but not limited to lawn mowing, weed eating, trimming shrubs, shoveling of snow, preparing sidewalks for safe use during ice and snow.
  • Conduct surveys/inspections as assigned, completing forms and or reports with accuracy and timeliness. Ensures compliance with all applicable rules and regulations (IDOT, State Fire Marshall, applicable Adm. Rules).
  • Provides morning and afternoon transportation of clients to and from the agency and other scheduled activities, performs pre and post trip inspections.
  • Conduct an inventory of supplies, parts, and tools in stock for building/ground maintenance as delegated; making recommendations to the Facility Manager for replacement parts/equipment as needed.
