Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • N Plus Certification
  • A Plus Certification
  • Associate's degree preferred
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
  • Ability to analyze and resolve computer hardware and software problems
  • Some knowledge of technologies available for use in the instructional setting
  • Ability to repair computer and technology equipment after consultation with a technology advisor and/or district technology personnel
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated interest and aptitude for computer‑related problems
  • Willingness to attend training in computer technology repairs
  • Two years of experience with Microsoft Windows, Office Suites, Google G‑Suite
  • Two years of experience in computer repair and peripheral installation
  • Experience with basic network troubleshooting and wireless setup
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical assistance to campus faculty and staff for use of equipment including computer hardware and instructional‑related software.
  • Provide immediate on‑site assistance for technology problems and questions for campus staff.
  • Act as liaison between staff and campus technology advisor, assistant principal, and principal.
  • Assist in the maintenance of computers in classrooms to provide or arrange for needed repairs.
  • Manage student accounts for all instructional programs (e.g., Active Directory).
  • Assist campus staff with the student information system (e.g., grade verification reports, report cards, etc.).
  • Assist with the setup of audio and visual equipment needed to facilitate meetings, assemblies, instruction, etc.
  • Perform upgrades to software and hardware.
  • Run network drops and repair network cables as necessary.
  • Set up and deploy new computers, laptops, Chromebooks, tablets, iPads, printers, and any other required peripheral devices.
  • Install computer equipment, network (client and server) software and hardware on a variety of platforms (e.g., service packs, application software, operating software, hardware upgrades, etc.).
  • Use help‑desk system to log requests; monitor progress, track problem resolution, identify patterns of failure, research bug fixes and implement solutions; communicate with supervisor regarding unresolved problems; monitor assigned campus technicians’ work orders and assist if needed.
  • Conduct physical inventory of technology equipment and materials.
  • Run reports for any instructional software program.
  • Prepare and conduct training materials and training sessions on instructional software as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain an updated technology equipment inventory.
  • Safely perform all duties to avoid injury to oneself and/or others.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the immediate supervisor.

Working Conditions
  • Moderate to heavy standing, stooping, kneeling, stretching, bending, and lifting. Some contact with oils, chemicals, and solvents.
  • Travel hazard to and from school/community sites in a personal vehicle approximately forty (40) percent of the time.
  • Occasional prolonged and irregular hours; may require work after hours, on weekends, and/or during vacation breaks.
